SNT Updates

Hello all,

Your Safer Neighbourhood Team have had a positive end to the day today.

They spotted an uninsured vehicle attempting to leave the vicinity of Radnor Street in Chaddesden until they saw our marked police car, and conveniently turned the ignition off and exited the vehicle. Officers temporarily drove away from the area and returned. The owner was yet again seen sat in the drivers seat, but this time slowly driving away.

Officers dealt with this accordingly, issued a Traffic Offence Report, and seized the vehicle under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act for driving with no insurance.

Please remember, car insurance gives you financial protection in the event of an accident, and some types also cover claims arising from injuries to other people. If you own a roadworthy car, you legally need at least a basic level of cover, called third party insurance, even if you don't drive it. It's there for a reason!
