Fraud awareness

Are you aware that around 40% of recorded crime is fraud (we are also aware that it often goes unreported).  80%  of the reported fraud crimes are where victims have been defrauded online through commonly used social media apps.  If you are contacted through any of these platforms asking form money, gift cards, money gram or fund transfers, please ask yourself if the requests could be actually be a fraud.  Fraudsters often copy friends profiles to pretend to be that friend, or pretend to be a friend of a friend.  If you are offered a reward which you have to either unlock or release by sending something of value, then the chances are that this reward does not exist.   If you do feel you may have been scammed, stop making payments, and report it to Action Fraud or the police.  Stay financially safe, as the fraudsters won't stop until you have nothing left.
