Suspicious/ASB Incident & lots of community updates

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Firstly, my apologies if I missed anyone at last nights (06/04/25) Police Street Surgery at Ashendene Gr. I found a mobility scooter abandoned on Trentham Road (near to Longton Park). I had to arrange its recovery and make enquiries into finding a possible owner, which unfortunately made me late for the surgery.

I will be repeating the surgery Tonight (07/04/25) 18:30- 18:45

Patrols - Please find at the bottom of this e-mail a list of locations I have patrolled over the last few days.

'Sign ups'

I am extremely happy to announce that at the time of writing this e-mail there are 1016 residents from Trentham & Hanford ‘signed up’ to Staffordshire Smart Alerts'. Thank you all for helping to make this system a success, I really appreciate it.

Over the last few weeks we've had ‘Sign up’s from residents right across the area.

If you could please continue to spread the word to friends, family, neighbours, street WhatsApp groups and social media etc -  that would be fantastic, thank you. Hopefully we can make it to 2000!!

ASB (Anti-social behaviour) / Suspicious incident

We have received a report that on Saturday 5th April between approximately 19:00 - 19:30 hours, a male was seen in Meadowside. He climbed over Ash Green Academy's fencing and into the grounds of the school. He had also been into at least 1 garden.

I have spoken to residents in Meadowside, Farmadine & Larchmount Close and have liaised with staff at the school, where the school grounds were checked.  I am currently making CCTV enquiries.

At the present time, we have had no reports of any property being damaged or taken etc.

If anyone has had any problems in relation to this, if you could please contact 101, thank you.

Swimming in the Brook

On Friday afternoon I spoke to a group of children who were swimming in The Brook, located between New Inn Lane and Bainbridge Rd. The Brook can be hazardous due to unpredictable current changes, hidden rocks or other submerged objects, that can cause injury.

If you have children, please could you highlight the dangerous of swimming in open waters - thank you.

Resident Associations

On Saturday 5th April I attended the Hanford Village Residents Association's AGM meeting. It was great to speak to residents about the work the Neighbourhood Policing Team are doing in the area.  There are 3 Resident Associations, Hanford Village, Trentham Central and Trentham South. They are all doing fantastic work in the community  - thank you to the Hanford Village Residents Association for inviting me along.

Community Speedwatch

Would you like to take part in Community Speedwatch in Trentham & Hanford? Its a fantastic opportunity for residents to help raise awareness regarding the dangers of speeding. If you would like to ‘sign up’, get information or have any questions, please reply to this message and I will get in touch - thank you.

As a local officer for the Trentham & Hanford area, I feel that its essential that every resident has their say on where local officers patrol and what issues they would like us to address. On any message you can request patrols or increased patrols of any location. Streets, alleyways, parks, whereever it is, we'll be there.

Over the last few days, I patrolled as many of these locations as possible. These patrols have included….

* Hanford Park

Vehicles parking too close to the Junction at Eastwick Cr

Parking concerns have also been looked into at Chessington Cr, Brinsley Av, Kennedy Road & The Mead.

Residents raised that they would like to see more patrols of Stone Road/A34. On 03/04/25 I completed a foot patrol of Stone Road, from the Trentham Gardens roundabout to Church Lane Hanford - these patrols will continue as frequently as I can.

Recently I was made aware of ASB concerns in the alleyway between Burrington Dr & Cardigan Gr. Last night I attended and checked on this location, I came across no issues - these patrols will continue.

If any ASB is experienced at this or any other location please report it to 101 (non-emergency) and 999 (emergency). This helps to ensure incidents are recorded, dealt with promptly and it helps local officers in ascertaining key days/times that issues are occurring.

The Canal -

I am aware of the issues of off road bikes riding along the canal.

Last night I attended the canal entrance at Atlantic Gr around 20:45pm - no bikes were seen at this time.

Police Street Surgeries

There will be a ‘Street Surgery’ at Catterick Cr - 08/04/2025 18:30 - 18:45

Every Street will have a Police Surgery - If you would like your street to be next please let me know. If you cannot make the one arranged for your street, please let me know and I can either re-do it or make a home visit.

Police Surgery

On Wednesday 9th April 2025 18:30 - 19:00 I will present at the Trentham Community Library, (Trentham Academy), Allerton Road. If anyone would like to come along to talk about any issues or would just like to say hello, I look forward to seeing you there.

Upcoming events

On 16th April 2025 at 9am I will be attending the ‘Warm Space' group that has recently been set up at The Trentham Parish Church. Following this I will be attending the Bereavement group at the Church.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Have a great week everyone, as always, if you see me on patrol, please stop me if you need anything.

Kind regards,

Scott
