Crime Report Kirkby in Ashfield and the Rural Villages for the week to midnight Wednesday 9 April 2025


Officers from the Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding beat surgeries on the following dates.

AMEMONA SWEETS at KIRKBY LIBRARY, ASHFIELD PRECINT, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD NG17 7AQ on Sunday 27th April 2025 at 2:30pm-4:00pm.

At 11.56am on Thursday 3 April in Derby Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, an attempt was made to steal a damaged metal gate from a driveway by a male driving a red van. He walked up the driveway and took the gate but was challenged by the owner. His excuse was that he thought it was scrap.

Criminal Damage

At 6.30pm on Sunday 6 April in Poplar Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield, two young males attempted to steal a bike, when confronted they threw it aside damaging the wing mirrors. Both were in their early teens, 5-00”/5-01” tall, one wearing a black North Face Puffer jacket, the second had a Nike man bag and may have been wearing glasses.

At 1.38pm on Saturday 5 April in Chatsworth Avenue, Selston, a report of a young girl around nine years of age, wearing a black cap and a red jumper, riding an e-scooter.

At 2.12pm on Saturday 5 April in Beacon Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield, a white off road motorbike with a racing plate ‘53’ was being ridden dangerously on footpaths in a farmers field near by. The rider was wearing black clothing and a helmet.
