  • Wiltshire PCC and Melksham Pubwatch - Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement training - WAVE and LSAVI

    Come join us for an engaging session at the Melksham Football Club, where we will be diving into the important topics of welfare and vulnerability. Our WAVE and LSAVI training will equip you with the necessary tools to better understand what vulnerability is and also put interventions in place.

    In partnership with Safer Business Network Training, they will take through the accredited and award winning programme to help you build confidence, skills and knoweldge in vulnerability, spiking awareness, "Ask for Angela" and becoming a Safe Haven.

    LSAVI will take you through the process of getting your venue accredited and how to achieve this.

    We will also have a short presentation on Op Vigilant, to tell you what the police are doing to help reduce Violence Against Women and Girls and vulnerability.

    Eren Bessim is Head of Training and Development for Safer Business Network, Eren brings his expertise from his previous role as a Licensing and Events Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police, ensuring their training programs remain impactful and relevant .

    He leads the triple award-winning Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) programme, designed to equip customer-facing individuals with the skills to recognise and support vulnerable people while promoting initiatives such as Ask for Angela. This program also covers policy and procedures, current violence against women and girls' information, legislation and spiking awareness.

    Jenn Jeffcoat-Marsh serving Detective Sergeant with Wiltshire Constabulary and an integral part of Project Vigilant Predator targeting during Night Time Economy.

    Ian Shuttleworth with 24 years’ experience as a police officer with Merseyside Police presents the Licensing Security and Vulnerability Initiative (Licensing SAVI), which is an online self-assessment tool for Licensed Premises, at the end of which, you will receive a Police approved award for your venue, to display to your customers. Licensing SAVI complements the learning from Safer Business Networks WAVE & Ask for Angela Training, offers you free template policies and guides, and covers a wide range of topics, such as staff training / Spiking / Drugs / Counter Terrorism / Physical security of your venue / Dealing with Vulnerability as well as helping you and your venue, to meet the requirements of the responsible authorities.
