Anti-Social use of bikes - how to help !

Good Evening Resident

Staff from the Team 1 Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team have seized an off road bike this evening in Lightcliffe and the rider will be subsequently prosecuted.

Anti-social behaviour caused by nuisance bikes accounts for a large proportion of reports in Calderdale, highlighting the importance of sharing information about perpetrators.

Nuisance bikes, whether they are motorbikes, e-bikes, or quad bikes, can be a cause of concern for several reasons, which is why we are asking you to report any incidents if your area is blighted by the issue.

There are several actions that can and are being used against these riders, but we need your help to focus resources and direct the right action to specific locations and people.

To help provide the best chance of successful action, when reporting an incident, we want you to give, if possible:

  • A name or good description of the rider and the bike – are there any distinctive markings or stickers.
  • A registration number if it can be seen – Partial registrations are also welcome.
  • An address of where the bike is stored or comes from and goes to (if known) – This is key to addressing the issue.
  • As much detail as possible about the nuisance, the dates and times, the riders, the bikes, and any vehicles used to transport them if that is the case.

  • Reports can be made here https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/form/report-nuisance-bikes

    Via live chat https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/LiveChat

Or 101 for a non emergency

    999 for an emergency

    Thank you
