Week 11-20 off duty

Week 21

Active parking patrol has been conducted around KEEPERS/FORSTERS and NORTHWICH ROAD. Parking on zig zags lines is a serious issue because it can pose a safety risk, especially near pedestrians crossing. Advisory notices issued to vehicles parked on zig zags to educate drivers before stricter enforcement is applied. No-one can park on zags zags even with a blue badge on display. Further patrols will be made in April with the CWAC enforcement officers.

Parking patrol has been carried out around WEAVERHAM HIGH SCHOOL. Overall, parking was good, but a few motorists received words if advise for parking on junctions/yellow lines. To improve safety and enforcement, I've contacted CWAC enforcement team to arrange joint patrols throughout April. Thank you for parking responsibly!

Following community concerns, parking patrols have been carried out on Forsters Avenue. Several advisory notices issued, along with guidance to drivers. Reminder: Do not park within 10 metres of a junction. This helps keep visibility clear and ensures safety for all road users. Thank you for parking responsibly!

Parking enforcement has also been carried out around Cuddington Primary School, with advisory notices issued to drivers parked within 10 metres of a junction and on yellow lines. Further patrols will take place alongside CWAC enforcement officers to ensure safety for all road users and pedestrians.

Parking concerns along Station Road, Acton Bridge have been monitored.  On this occasion, no vehicles were found obstructing the footpath. Future patrols will take place alongside CWAC enforcement officers to ensure continued compliance.

Over the past several months, we have received reports of youths congregating in various areas, patrols conducted across WEAVER and CUDDINGTON ward to reassure the community.

I have carried out an reassurance visit to a victim of crime, completing an Op Signature assessment to support those at risk. Don’t fall for a scam! • Station Road, Acton Bridge – Highest recorded speed: 34mph

• High Street, Weaverham – Highest recorded speed: 38mph

• Station Road, Weaverham – Highest recorded speed: 40mph. All 4 offences have been processed and sent to the Central Ticket Office for further action.

In Support of the National Road Safety Campaign #FATAL5 - Speed enforcement was carried out on Norley Road, Cuddington with the highest recorded speed being 44 mph. Both offences captured will be processed and sent to the Central Ticket Office for further action.

As part of the Fatal 5 initiative, speed enforcement was carried out on Weaverham Road, Cuddington this week. A total of 9 offences were recorded for exceeding the 30-mph speed limit. All offences have been processed and referred to the Central Ticket Office for further action.

I have met with the Weaverham Parish Council Clerk this week to discuss community parking concerns and explore ways we can help improve the situation. If you have any community issues or concerns, please let us know by completing the form at the link below: https://www.cheshire.police.uk/police-forces/cheshire-constabulary/areas/cheshire/campaigns/northwich/residents-voice/

I recently met with Cheshire West and Chester Councillor Stocks to discuss key local issues and incidents affecting our WEAVER and CUDDINGTON ward. Topics included concerns raised by residents, ongoing safety matters, and the re-establishment of our Community Speed Watch scheme—a vital step in addressing road safety concerns and promoting safer driving in our neighbourhoods.

Community Speed Watch - If you are interested in volunteering as a community speed watch volunteer helping to keep our roads a safer place please message us.  Volunteers once trained will be required to work independently as a minimum group of 3 persons at a time.  For more info - https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/residents/transport-and-roads/road-safety/enforcement/community-speed-management

The next Northwich and Winsford Community Cohesion Group will be held at St John's Church Centre, School Lane, Hartford, CW8 1NP on 22/04/25 at 1900hrs. The topic will be stop and search. Attendees will have the opportunity to review police body worn footage and give feedback. Light refreshments will be provided. I have worked in collaboration with the WVHT Housing Officer this week, carrying out the Street of a Week initiative around ROWAN ROAD, engaging with residents to gather community concerns and feedback. The main issue raised during this initiative was parking, particularly during school hours. Weaverham Parish Council is currently exploring possible solutions to address this ongoing concern. If you would like your Street to be included in a future Street of a Week initiative, please get in touch with: Michelle Gillett – Michelle.gillett@cheshire.police.uk

Street of the Week on Briar Lane - community discussions have been conducted with residents on Briar Lane to better understand local concerns. For residents who were not home at the time, a Resident Voice Survey has been posted. Please scan the QR code using your mobile device to complete the survey at your convenience. Your input is valued and helps shape improvements in your community.

I attended Cuddington Youth Club, spending time engaging with the younger generation and even joining in on some Wallie football matches! Congratulations to Cuddington Youth Club for securing funding from the Cheshire Police & Crime Commissioner, which will support ongoing efforts to combat and reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the area, positive community connections!

Water Safety Advice – Please Take a Moment to Read

Your safety around water is extremely important. Whether you’re at the beach, pool, lake, or river, please keep the following tips in mind:

Always supervise children around water – even shallow areas.

Never swim alone – use the buddy system.

Avoid alcohol when swimming or operating boats.

Wear a life jacket when boating or in open water if you’re not a strong swimmer.

Check the weather and water conditions before entering.

Know your limits – don’t push yourself too hard.

Learn CPR and basic rescue techniques – it could save a life.

Watch for currents and tides – they can change quickly and be dangerous.

 Owley Wood

Bottom Pitch Meadow

Officers will continue to patrol the area to provide reassurance. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 101.

I have also engaged with the farmer who owns the land behind Walnut Avenue, where crops are grown, following concerns about unauthorised access by motocross bikers and individuals using metal detectors. We kindly remind residents and visitors to respect the farmer’s horticultural land, as it is his livelihood and vital to the local community. Further patrols will be conducted in the area to offer reassurance and deter unauthorised access. Thank you for your cooperation.

Operation Withdraw: Keeping Northwich Safe - As part of Operation Withdraw, Northwich Beat Officers and I  have been out in the community this weekend conducting checks on taxi drivers. The aim is to ensure all taxis are operating lawfully within the area, helping to keep residents safe while out and about. These proactive checks support public safety by making sure drivers and vehicles are properly licensed and compliant with regulations.
