Bedfordshire Police are looking for volunteers to join Community Speed Watch in Leighton Buzzard.  Speed Watch carries out activity on roads in Leighton Buzzard in which residents have raised as a concern with speeding vehicles.  We ask for a commitment of two sessions a month at a time that suits you, each session lasts one hour.  Speed Watch is an educational and awareness scheme and is not an enforcement initiative, it has no powers to prosecute.  The presence of speed watch shows road uses an instant visible notification of the speed they are travellling. If exceeding the speed limit a letter is sent out to the registered owner.  All training and equipment is supplied by Bedfordshire police along with ongoing support at the roadside.  If you are interested in joining this community scheme please email WatchSchemes@beds.police.uk
