Three men have been fined after admitting going equipped for hare coursing.
Appearing before Swindon Youth Court on 26 March, Rudy Jones, 31, from Adams Road, Monkton; Aaron Jones, 25, from Vetch Close, Pembroke; and Tommy-Lee Jones, 31, from Long Mains, Monkton were ordered to pay £385 each.
The court had heard how all three men were located with long dogs hiding in bushes near Uffcott in Wiltshire on 30 October last year.
There had been a report that vehicles had been using lamps on private land before the reporting person lost sight of them.
The police helicopter located an abandoned vehicle in woodland which officers found to be still warm.
Shortly afterwards, a member of the public called police saying they had seen males running nearby.
The police helicopter picked up three males hiding in bushes with dogs and officers were directed to that area.
They were all arrested, interviewed and bailed before being charged by police for S64 Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 being equipped offence. | ||||
