This initiative has been making a significant impact since 1989 and continues to empower young people across the region to undertake community projects that make a real difference in their local areas. Lifestyle 2025 aims to build on the success of previous years by encouraging even more young people to get involved. Over the past 36 years, more than 195,000 young people have participated in the programme benefitting their communities. They have learned new skills through various impactful projects, from creating community gardens and wheelchair accessible open spaces to collecting for food banks. Lifestyle Coordinator, Abby Harrison, expressed her excitement about the launch: "Lifestyle 2025 is not just about community service, it's about fostering a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and pride among our youth. “Our launch event featured presentations from past participants who shared their inspiring stories and the lasting impact of their projects. Sponsors and community leaders also highlighted the importance of supporting such initiatives that promote youth engagement and community development. “There are also a host of fantastic prizes on offer for those who undertake the most creative and successful projects. These include an amazing trip to Paris and Disneyland, as well as a selection of day passes to various locations! “We are incredibly proud of the positive changes our young participants have brought about over the years, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve this year. “We encourage all young people in the region to join Lifestyle 2025 and be part of a movement that not only transforms communities but also shapes future leaders. “If you’d like to get involved with Lifestyle 2025, promotion will start in May in schools and youth centres around the region, so keep an eye out!” Find out more about the Lifestyle Project here. Lifestyle 2025 is only possible through commercial sponsorship including: Smith & Nephew, Safer Roads Humber, Joseph and Annie Cattle Trust, Andrew Marr, BAE Systems, Lions, Fairburns Group, Cleveland Cars, JayJay Media and Bridgetown Systems.
