Hello Resident

My name is Ros and I am a Neighbourhood Watch Regional Volunteer Coordinator for the BT Digital Voice project. I am currently organizing a range of drop-in events across the East of England to coincide with the Digital Switchover which will be happening across the country very soon and affecting some of our most vulnerable in their communities. I am looking for volunteers to support in hosting these events, informing local residents of what the digital switchover means if they have a landline and what they will need to do when the time comes as well as address any concerns they may have. This is also a great opportunity to introduce communities to the work of the Neighbourhood Watch.

I currently need volunteers to co-host at the following confirmed events:

Winslow Library on Monday 19th May 2025 - 11am to 3pm

Methodist Church, Dunstable on Wednesday 4th June 2025 - 1 to 5pm

You would receive full support and training to be able to host this event and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed such as travel, refreshments and parking costs.

Commitment required is two one-hour online training sessions and the event itself. You will be supported by at least one other volunteer on the day and provided with resources to support your conversations. No presentation skills required, just an interest in engaging with people.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help others to feel well informed and confident to know what will be happening, what it involves and what is expected of them. This helps reduce the likelihood that they will be scammed and confused with mis-information.
