North Yorkshire Police Volunteers will in the upcoming weeks and months be carrying out Community Speedwatch checks at approved sites in and around Thirsk, Northallerton and surrounding villages.

Signs will be in place advising drivers that speed checks are in operation and operators will be in uniform and wearing High Visibility clothing.

Offending drivers will not be stopped, however their vehicle details will be recorded and passed to North Yorkshire Police Traffic Bureau who will decide what if any action is taken.
