Badger Sett Interference

There have been a number of reports of badger setts in the Craven Area having being found blocked.  Under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992, it is an offence to damage, destroy or block access to or from a badger sett, or to disturb badgers in their setts.

If you find any evidence of this or any other wildlife crime, or you have any information as to who may be responsible, please get a location using either a grid reference or W3W app, and report it to police.  If you see something happening at the time, then call police on 999, and without putting yourself in danger, get as much information as possible including anything that might identify an offender eg. vehicle registration details.

North Yorkshire Police Rural Task Force and Wildlife Crime Officers investigate all reports of wildlife crime.
