St MIchaels update

Heres a quick update from your neighbourhood team

We have carried out high visibility patrols in and around the city centre, focussing on the areas YOU have told us need the most attention

Officers were called to an individual that was in breach of their Community Behaviour Order in the city centre. This resulted in that particular individual being sentenced to 12 weeks in prison

A CBO is a court order designed to address serious and persistent anti-social behaviour, particularly in individuals also involved in criminal activity. CBOs can be issued to both adults and children over 10, and they can include prohibitions and requirements to prevent the offender from engaging in similar behaviour

In recent times multiple repeat offenders have been issued with CBO to curb the antisocial behaviour in the city centre

Officers have also carried out an arrest attempt on a prolific offender, resulting in an arrest, leading to a charge that saw the offender remanded in custody awaiting a court appearance.

St Michaels  neighbourhood officers are determined to track down and arrest shop thieves to enable those working in retail in the city centre to focus on delivering for their customers day in and day out

Officers have also carried out late night patrols around the outskirts of the city centre, looking to deter those wishing to carry out criminal behaviour and offer reassurance to our community members going about their lawful business

Unfortunately we have seen a rise in thefts of bicycles in recent days, we have seen some fantastic responses to CCTV requests which have helped us to attempt identification of the offenders, however we always need your help. If you see something that doesn’t seem right or feels out of place, let us know

Remember if its an emergency its 999 or 101. If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls
