Dear Residents

Officers are currently investigating a report of Burglary in the area around Firwood Lane and Crompton Way in the Tonge Moor.
 

It is reported that offenders have gained access to a house via forcing open a window. The offence is believed to have occurred around 0300hrs 20/04/2025
 

Police are keen to give out prevention advice to assist members of the public in learning how they can protect themselves and their property from this type of offence. Please find an attached home security checklist that can be completed in the time it takes to make a brew.
 

While not the case in this instance, insecure doors and windows remain a key method of entry for opportunistic offenders. We urge all residents to ensure that doors are kept locked at all times, check, check and check again.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team, The Neighbourhood Policing Team and Forensic Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) are working hard to bring the offenders to justice and will be increasing activity in the affected areas.
 

Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to 999 or 101 promptly.
