Following on from a previous message about Theft from motor vehicles, there have also been numerous thefts of number plates in the Tonge Moor area.

We have a small number of Anti-Tamper Number Plate Fixing Kits available. These kits consist of anti-tamper screws and caps, these replace the existing screws in number plates. These are intended to be DIY fit in a few seconds requiring nothing more than a medium sized flat headed screwdriver. Special heads on the screws mean they can be screwed in with a flat blade screwdriver but are much more difficult to remove.  If your plates are glued on or fitted with sticky pads further steps may be required to install these kits.
