Parking issues - Park Road, Shirebrook.

Yesterday, PCSO's Sam FELLOWS, Dave HANCOCK and PC's Ash CUTT and Jake STONE paid a visit to Park Road where we have received complaints of parking.

Whilst we understand this is something that happens twice a day for probably 10 to 15 minutes each time, we have been paying attention to the area and making sure we educate people on how to park responsibly.

Before the half term period, you may have seen one of our posts where some vehicles were issued a Parking Charge Notice for being parked dangerously or in a way that obstructs the pavements completely.

Yesterday, we did notice that people were parked more considerably. We do understand that Park Road is a tight road and can be difficult for people picking up/dropping off children at the School.

We ask that you all continue to park in a considerate way and always think of other road and pavement users before deciding where to park.

🚗The Highway Code states the following rules relating to parking such as:
•    Highway Code Rule 242- You MUST NOT leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position of where it causes any unnecessary obstruction of the road.
•    Highway Code Rule 242- DO NOT stop or park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction.
•    Highway Code Rule 243- DO NOT stop or park anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services; where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles; in front of an entrance to a property.

Vehicles found breaching this could potentially receive 3 points and a fine for the following offence:
Cause vehicle to be left in a dangerous position- 3 points, £100.
