COMMUNITY WORK-

Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team hope you have had a lovely Easter, whether you stayed home and ate too many eggs or had a trip away, we are almost at the end of April and its been a busy one for the team.

Police Open Day at Worcester Police Station on Sunday 13th April-This was a fantastic day with so many people attending to see the variety of officers including Police dogs and their handlers and checked out the vehicles that we use day to day.  There were tours of the Custody block, a visit from our very own mascot PD Peeler, who we are hoping makes an appearance at the Pershore Plum Festival this year!.  It was a chance for people to speak to their local officers, PC Keeler and PCSO Doughty of the rural team where on hand to answer any questions throughout the day.  We were joined by our partners for the day including Severn Area Rescue with their vehicle and equipment and a fire engine from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue as well as others.  We really hope all that attended had a brilliant day, the children certainly did with all the activities that were put on and interacting with officers, it's really important to build a positive relationship with everyone including children so they have an understanding of what the Police actually do, not just arresting people!.

Throughout April myself and the team have continued to work hard to keep the community safe, visiting vulnerable people in their homes, going into schools to educate children and youths about a number of topics including Internet Safety and when to report something of a concern.  We have built up a good relationship with the local schools and are recognised by many students that feel comfortable talking to us and sharing any issues they feel along with parents that need our support.

This week we have been assisting our rural colleagues as well as our own patch with some reports of Donkeys on the road in the area of Pinvin.  The team have been working hard to tackle this issue and we have spoken to the owners with a plan in place.

We are very happy to report that whilst we had a couple of incidents of Anti- Social Behaviour early on in the month, that we have seen a huge difference in the reduction of this.  Myself and the team work hard to ensure that anything that is raised to us that we deal with as quickly as we can with the right measures in place.  Some Anti-Social Behaviour is not for the Police so if you are unsure please email the team for advice : pershoretown.snt@westmercia.police.uk or visit www.westmercia.police.uk or message us through here on Neighbourhood Matters and we will come back to you as soon as we can.

We hope moving into May that this lovely weather continues and we will be posting our future dates for drop in surgeries for you to attend.

Enjoy the weekend!

PCSO Bex Ashley
