Attempt theft from motor vehicle

We have received a report that two individuals have entered an insecure vehicle on The Lea. This occurred on 22/04/2025 at approximately 23:33 hours.  Nothing was taken from the vehicle. 

The two suspects had use of pedal cycles.

Crime Prevention Advice - 

*Please ensure when leaving your vehicle unattended that it is locked and any valuables removed.

On 28/04/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery on The Lea (Junction with Kennedy Road) 18:30 - 18:45.

Burglary- Spears Travel - Enquiries are continuing in relation to this incident. I wanted to send this out again to ensure we do not miss any lines of enquiry regarding any potential CCTV in the area.  

From approximately 23:30 on 10/04/25 - 00:30am on 11/04/2025 offender(s) have broken into Spears Travel, which is located on Mayne Street, Hanford. We believe the offender(s) have approached the shop from the direction of Northgate Close. If you have any CCTV, Ring Doorbell, Dash Cam footage or any other information which may assist our investigation please call 101 quoting serial 116 of 11/04/2025 - thank you

Cold Callers

I spoke with a resident yesterday who informed me that approximately 3 weeks ago, Cold Callers attended their property. They were described as being ‘pushy’ in their sales approach and they carried out work on their driveway that was of a very poor standard. I have since passed on the Cold Callers details to Trading Standards. 

If you have any concerns regarding Cold Callers please do report it via 101 (non emergency) and 999 (emergency). This will help ensure officers can address any concerns and refer the sellers to Trading Standards if required. 

Please do not agree to have work completed by Cold Callers. Ask relatives, neighbours and friends for their recommendations and get at least 3 quotes from 3 different companies before agreeing to any work to be completed.   

‘Sign up posters'

Over the last couple of days I delivered the new ‘sign up poster’ to a large number of locations throughout the area, which included businesses, Care Homes and Health Centres. 

If you would like a copy of the new poster please let me know and I will deliver it to your home address as soon as I can. 

Police Street Surgeries 

Please find below the dates and times of upcoming Police Street Surgeries. If you miss any of the surgeries, please let me know and I can either re-do the surgery or complete a home visit.

Today (26/04/2025) there will be a Street Surgery at Margaret Av 13:00 - 13:15. 

Tomorrow (27/04/2025) - There will be a Street Surgery at Artic Pl 14:00 - 14:15 

On 28/04/2025 there will be a Street Surgery at Danehill Grove 15:00 - 15:15 

On 29/04/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Earls Road 18:30 - 18:45

On 30/04/2025 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Albert Road 18:30 - 18:45
