We have been made aware of a ‘ Scam Builder’ in the area of Greenwood Drive BLS. The occupants at the targeted property have had a male knock on the door stating that they need work done ie gutters , facia boards . They have agreed to work being carried out last November and have only just had the work completed BUT have been scammed out of approximately £39,000 for work that should have been around £800 in total.

We are currently conducting enquiries with all relevant agencies to safeguard this family in the first instance and to highlight him to Action Fraud/ Trading standards, before making our own enquiries into this matter.

Please can we ask that if anyone should knock on your door offering building services etc you report this to ourselves on 101 and obtain any vehicle registrations/ company names etc immediately.
