Within my role of Public Safety Officer, I work with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, i also respond to incidents with them on the fire engine. 

Over the last few weeks we have had to attend several incidents where children have been lighting fires (mainly in wooded areas). With the ground still being exceptionally dry this is a massive risk to our local countryside and in turn then become a massive strain on resources and local crews. 

We will be aiming to attend local schools to engage with children and inform them of the dangers of doing this.
