Hello everybody,

I trust the vast majority of residents have enjoyed the improved weather now British Summertime has arrived once more.

The Local Policing Team of PC 1365 Stu Venables and PCSO 6174 Jon Harrison have been cracking on with a variety of different activities relevant to their responsibilities with Birstall and Wanlip.

PCSO Jon has continued to make himself available to the community through a variety of different engagements, including but not limited to joint Beat Surgeries and Bike Register/Crime Prevention Roadshows with the assistance of the Police Volunteers for Charnwood & Loughborough.

The initial wave of ASB occurring at the North Services has subsided and though reports continue to be received of Birstall Youths in the villages these reports are of a much reduced capacity. Again, the Team will monitor this situation.

Investigations continue regarding the unknown person targeting residents cars (and any valuables/content found & taken). PCSO Jon is especially grateful for the response received from residents regarding the sharing of relevant CCTV footage but would additionally like to take the opportunity to encourage residents to report any thefts directly to the Police. No matter the volume of reports, all information is relevant. As PCSO Jon is prone to regularly stating with residents - “What is important to the community, is important to the Police”, or as it were, PC 1365 Venables and PCSO 6174 Harrison. We continue to support our regular colleagues investigations and bring offenders to justice.

Moving forward, residents will have begun to see Community Speed Watch placards along identified roads for which volunteers from the community have come forward to assist the Police in addressing concerns expressed by residents regarding the unacceptable behaviour of road users in the vicinity. 

In coming months the Birstall Gala will return and the Beat Team will be present.
