Good afternoon Resident,

Hopefully you got enjoy the Stockport “Day of Dance” today, which took place throughout the town centre. Over one thousand Morris Dancers came down to Stockport today from all over to take part in what's being described as one of the biggest Morris Dancing events in the country.

It was very busy with lots of foot fall. Hopefully you also spotted an officer today. We were on foot patrol throughout the duration of the event, ensuring that the event was enjoyed safely.

I am happy to say the event went extremely well without any concerns or disruptions.

I'm not sure that I fully understand what Morris Dancing actually is but I did find it very enjoyable to watch!

To make this email a bit more interesting… we did make an arrest today…

My fellow eagle-eyed officers sighted a wanted male in the grounds of Saint Mary's Church. Fortunately, this male was wanted for failing to appear at court and his arrest was completely unrelated to the event. Sorry it's not that exciting! 

I hope everybody who visited today had a good time and felt safe. We chatted to a few of you who were really pleased to see a police presence which is always great to hear.
