Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Between 17:00 hrs on the 25th of April to 11: 00 hrs on the 26th April a theft of a vehicle occurred in Richmond close, Cheshunt.

The vehicle was parked on the roadside near to the reporting persons home and was a black Mazda van. The vehicle was removed by unknown means.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
