πŸ“’ Update from Worksop North Beat TeamΒ πŸ“’

Between Friday 26th April 2025 and Sunday 27th April 2025, Officers based at Worksop Police Station undertook a range of significant activities to help keep our community safe.

This update provides a snapshot of just a small part of their work over the weekend:

πŸ‘‰ Early hours of Friday 26th April 2025: Officers from response detained a 40-year-old man after it was reported that he had tried to commit a burglary. Following a short foot chase, the male was arrested and transported to Mansfield Custody. He has since been charged with burglary, criminal damage, robbery, and three counts of shop theft. The man has been remanded and will appear in court on Monday 28th April 2025.

πŸ‘‰ Later on Friday 26th April 2025: A 51-year-old man, wanted on recall to prison, was arrested. He was promptly transported to Mansfield Custody and returned to prison.

πŸ‘‰ Saturday 27th April 2025:

  • The Worksop North Beat team arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of four shop thefts and a common assault. He has been charged and remanded and will appear in court on Monday 28th April 2025.
  • Later that evening, Officers arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of shop theft, along with a 48-year-old man at the scene for obstructing a Police Officer. On Sunday 27th April 2025, the 46-year-old man was charged and remanded and will appear in court on Monday 28th April 2025, while the 48-year-old man was charged and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
  •

πŸ’‘ Our Commitment: We are dedicated to tackling shop theft in and around the town of Worksop. While shoplifting may appear to be a victimless crime, persistent offences force shops to increase their prices to cover the costs of theft across their stores. This has a massive impact on the community as a whole.

πŸ”” A reminder for the community: Worksop Police Station, located in the Queens Building, Potter Street, Worksop, operates as a 24-hour response base throughout the year. Whilst the front counter is open during office hours (Monday to Friday), even when it is closed, Police Officers are actively working from within the building to serve the community.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep Worksop safe. πŸ’™
