1st Community Speed Watch

Hello Resident

Erdington's community Speed Watch conducted its first speed check tonight on Spring Lane.

Several vehicles were caught speeding they will now be sent a warning letter. Repeat offenders may become the focus of police enforcement.

Community Speedwatch (CSW) teams are groups of local people who volunteer their time to help keep their communities safe. Their aims are to:

  • Reduce death and injury on the roads
  • Improve the quality of life for their local communities
  • Reduce the speed of vehicles to the speed limit
  • Increase public awareness of inappropriate speed
  •

We are currently running a competition whereby you can design our Community Speed Watch logo for the High Vis Vests.

If your interested  in joining the group or want to set your own Speed Watch group up please get in touch via email erdington@westmidlands.police.uk this is a great way to make a difference in your community making your roads safer.

We look forward to many more speed watches to come

    Regards
