Police: Update on today's shift

Good evening Rutland North,

It was a hot one today, especially when wearing all our kit! ☀️ ♨️ (Which reminds me, I’ve been meaning to put that request in to uniform stores to see if we can get some surf shorts authorised for the summer 🩳  😁 )

A brief update on some of my activity today 👇

I have been putting a case file together for one of my investigations I have completed, which now needs to go to the Crown Prosecution Service before the case can be heard at court ✍️ ⚖️

Whilst doing this, an emergency two vehicle Road Traffic Collision came out over the radio, so I supported response colleague’s PC 4138 and PC 2088 on Burley Park Way with the immediate response 🚨

With thanks to East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics, fortunately everyone involved is okay and there are no serious injuries 🚑

As my Rutland South DNO colleague PC McKinnon posted about earlier today on our Facebook account, road safety is always a ‘hot topic’ (pardon the pun) on our account. But this is because of its importantance, the two incidents today on Rutland roads should provide answers to those who ask why road safety is a local neighbourhood priority for Rutland 🚔

It was then onto Cottesmore for the Annual Parish Council Meeting, I was joined by Sergeant Palmer who is the Sergeant for Rutland. We were able to give an update on what has been happening in the village over the past year, the work we have been completing and answer any questions or concerns. Thank you to those who attended 🤝

After this I returned a phone case/wallet to its rightful owner, who lives on the beat area, that was handed in by a Good Samaritan at Oakham Police Station earlier today. They were extremely grateful to receive it back and couldn’t express their thanks enough to the person who found it and handed it in. Especially as all their belongings were still inside, including cash, which just proves how amazing our local community is! 👏

Thank you,
