Gloucestershire Constabulary can confirm that the controlled explosion in Chedworth has now taken place.

A cordon which was put into place has also been lifted.

Officers would like to thank the local community for their co-operation and patience today (Thursday 8 May).

Police had been made aware of a large quantity of dynamite in an outbuilding of a farm at around 10.50am this morning. It is believed the 140 sticks of dynamite are around 40 years old.
