Parking patrols were conducted around the Forster Avenue/Keepers Lane junction this week following concerns raised by residents. Additional patrols were also carried out in the area surrounding The Russett School. Feedback from these patrols has been shared with Weaverham Parish Council clerk and chairman discussing potential long-term solutions.
Following the recent wildfire at DELAMERE FOREST, an urgent reminder to all visitors was issued: “Please protect our countryside. Do not light barbecues or campfires, and always dispose of litter and smoking materials responsibly.” I am particularly saddened to report that on 12/05/25 at approximately 14:10 hours, a group of 6–7 youths are believed to have started a fire while playing football at BOTTOM PITCH MEADOW, OWLEY WOODS, WEAVERHAM. Thanks to quick community intervention extinguishing the fire, several youths left the scene on foot via AINSWORTH ROAD, OWLEY WOOD ROAD and GLEAVE ROAD, while two other youths left in a black vehicle driven by an unidentified female. CCTV enquiries are ongoing, and a vehicle registration number has now been obtained. If you could help identify those involved. If you witnessed anything or have relevant information, please call 101 quoting occurrence number – 25000392335
You said .... speed was a concern on NORLEY ROAD CUDDINGTON We did ..... speed enforcement conducted 12/05/25. The highest captured speed being 35 mph. All video evidence has been processed for our central ticket office to progress further.
This week I joined the SANDIWAY 1st Rainbows & Brownies for a fun evening of learning. The children had a fantastic time working towards their Road Safety and People Who Can Help Us badges. Using police props and road safety equipment, they created mock scenarios to learn how to stay safe and who they can turn to for help, followed with a Q&A session, where the children asked some brilliant questions. Even the adults got involved in the fun-filled activities!
Youths made off from myself at BOTTOM PITCH MEADOW, OWLEY WOOD on bikes and one on foot wearing a pink t-shirt on 13/05/25 it appears they left behind personal belongings on the bench. Litter has been properly disposed of, and tobacco products has been seized.
This week I met with Weaverham Parish Clerk and Chairman to discuss a number of key community concerns. Topics on the agenda included:

Following recent reports of arson, anti-social behaviour, and littering at Bottom Pitch Meadow, I carried out our Street a Week initiative on Owley Wood Road (opposite Bottom Pitch Meadow). The aim was to address community concerns, provide visible reassurance through patrols, and continue building stronger community relationships. Thank you to residents for your continued support.
I have attended the Holy Communion service at ST JOHN’s Church this morning. Great engagement with members of our faith community.
After this morning’s service, I visited St MARY's Church, continuing my engagement with members of the faith community. It was wonderful to see so many people taking home a copy of our ‘Think Jessica’ scam awareness booklet - https://www.thinkjessica.com/jessicas-story/
