E-Scooter seized in Memorial Gardens!

This afternoon, Beat Officers have came across an E-Scooter being ridden on Church Road, Ashford that then upon seeing them, took a sharp U-Turn and tried to duck into the Memorial Gardens to hide out of sight. We caught up with the rider in the Memorial Gardens and they have been given suitable advice as well as having their E-Scooter seized.

If you own an E-Scooter or are thinking of buying one, make sure you know the law first, otherwise you could find yourself with points on your driving license and your E-Scooter being seized. As it stands it is not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters. This means it’s illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces, such as parks, street pavements, and shopping centres.
