Appeal launched following criminal damage to VE Day memorial tree in Alfreton


We are appealing for information after a memorial tree dedicated to the 80th anniversary of VE Day was damaged. 

The tree was pulled out of the ground causing damage to the roots on Centenary Green in Aumonier Way, Alfreton.

The incident happened sometime between 7pm on Tuesday 20 May and 10am on Wednesday 21 May. 

We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us. 

Of particular interest is anyone who has CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage which covers the area of the incident and has not yet spoken to officers.
