2x E-Scooters off the road!

We have had lots of feedback about the negative effect the use of E-Scooters and E-Bikes are having amongst members of the community.

Beat Officers have been out today and whilst in the area of Beaver Road, Ashford we have seized two E-Scooters. The first was seen riding at speed on the road and was stopped, with the rider being given suitable education and the E-Scooter seized. Whilst the second, came along in the exact same location around an hour later, this time riding down the pavement at speed. The rider was again given suitable advice and has had their E-Scooter seized.

As a reminder, both these riders had only recently purchased their E-Scooters and are now out of pocket a combined £1,100 because they are now due to be destroyed where they have been ridden without insurance. It is the responsibility of the rider, to ensure they know the laws surrounding the use of E-Scooters, so if you have friends or family that own them, consider following the below advice, otherwise they too run the risk of the E-Scooter being seized and destroyed.
