Good evening residents of Westhoughton,

We have listened to your reports of driving offences being one of the area's main priorities. Today we attended Central Drive and issued a number of Traffic Offence Reports for vehicles causing unnecessary obstruction such as parking on junctions. Residents had reported their concerns for the risk this poses to the safety of children on this road, particularly during school pick up times. 

We have also completed a traffic operation on Washacre where driver's vehicles, licences and insurance policies were checked. 

We are able to conduct these checks from information that you have provided to the Police.
