When handling large sums of cash, prioritize security to prevent theft or loss. Minimize the amount of cash you carry, use a variety of secure payment methods, and be aware of your surroundings. If you must carry a large amount of cash, consider using a money belt, keeping it in a front pocket, and being discreet about your transactions.

  • Limit cash: Whenever possible, use alternative payment methods like cards or online transfers.

  • Be discreet:

Avoid flashing large amounts of cash or counting it in public.

  • Secure your belongings:

Keep your purse or wallet in a secure location, such as a front pocket or a zipped bag, and avoid keeping all valuables in one place, according to the Metropolitan Police

  • Stay aware:

Be mindful of your surroundings, particularly in crowded areas or when using ATMs.

  • Consider security:

If carrying a large amount of cash, consider using a money belt or other concealed pouch.

  • Don't resist:

If confronted by a potential thief, it's often safer to comply and avoid physical confrontation.

    Specific Scenarios:

  • Cash withdrawals:

When making large cash withdrawals, consider going with a friend, being mindful of your surroundings, and avoiding talking about the transaction afterward.

  • Carrying cash:

If you must carry a large amount, keep it concealed and spread it across different pockets or bags.

  • Home storage:
