Keeping children safe and giving them the tools to spot danger

PCC supports safety training events for schoolchildren with grant of £39k 

Keeping vulnerable people – including children – safe, is at the heart of the PCC's West Mercia Safer Communities Plan.

That's why the PCC has committed £39k to two Crucial Crew initiatives that provide safety training events for schoolchildren in Shropshire.

Shrewsbury and Oswestry Crucial Crew will be given £8k for the next three years, totaling £24K; while Bridgnorth and District Crucial Crew will be given £5k, totaling £15k over three years. 

The events give children the vital life skills that will protect them and enable them to recognise danger and what to do when confronted by it. This includes road, rail, online safety, and water safety training.
