FIRE AT STONYDELPH LAKES |
||
Between 22:00 - 23:00 on 27/08/25 unknown offenders have set fire to some dead hedging and some barrier safety equipment at Stonydelph lakes. The fire was made near to the wooden bridge on the A5 side of the lake. The Fire & Rescue Service were called out and extinguished the blaze before it spread any further. The damage has caused parts of a tree to fall, blocking access to the bridge. This mindless act of vandalism has not only caused irreparable damage but it will have no doubt had a detrimental effect on local wildlife if it has not already killed any small animals nesting within the dead hedging or the tree itself. It is believed that some youths were spoken to by a dogwalker who witnessed them causing damage to the wooden bridge. Parents, do you know where your children were that evening? Did any of them return home smelling of smoke? If anyone has any information as to who may be responsible please email me - john.horton@staffordshire.police.uk | ||
