5 Year Anniversary of the Murder of Sgt Ratana

Today marks the 5 year anniversary since the shocking murder of Police Sergeant Matt Ratana in Croydon Custody Suite.

This morning Officers from your West End Town Centre Team paid our respects at The National Polce Memorial on The Mall by laying flowers and having a minutes silence. 

Sergeant Ratana was very well known in the Met and worked across a number of borough’s and Police Stations and his impact he had on those he worked with is felt daily but especially today when we remember him. 

His murder highlighted the dangers and risk that your local Police Officers face daily when combatting crime and dealing head on with those in our society who seek harm to others.
