Local Priorities Mobile phone theft Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Theft of mobile phones on Alexandra park have increased in the last few weeks.
Be aware of your surroundings when you are out and about. Only use your phone if it feels safe. Ring 999 if someone attempts to steal your phone or if you witness someone else’s phone being stolen.
Take steps now to protect your phone in the event of it being stolen, such as pre-registering the IMEI number on Immobilise.com. This allows police to quickly identify it as a stolen handset if it is found in the possession of somebody else and also assists in reuniting stolen phones with their owners.
Pass this advice around to friends and family so they are also aware.
