I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Good News Firearms recovered Tooting and males charged.
On 12/07/2025, a number of gunshots were heard in the area of PRICE CLOSE, SW17. Officers attended PRICE CLOSE and found evidence of a firearm being discharged at least five times. Extensive CCTV and eye-witness enquiries showed three persons to be involved in the offence. A male attended the TOOTING area on a e-bike holding a bag understood to be containing a firearm. This male handed this bag over to another male who entered PRICE CLOSE and had fired it multiple times in a confrontation with two other males. This male then changed his clothing in PRICE CLOSE and fled the area, handing the bag with the firearm over to an accomplice.
On 23/07/2025 a firearm was recovered with a large quantity of class A drugs and class B drugs in a vehicle outside one of the male’s address at a premise in SM1. Checks confirmed this firearm to be used in the 12/07/2025 firearm discharge. DNA analysis linked the 3 males above to the recovered firearm..
On 01/10/2025 multiple warrants were carried out at 5 addresses and all 3 suspects were arrested. All 3 males were charged with Possession of Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life and Possession of Ammunition and remanded in custody. One of the males was also further charged with two counts of Possession With Intent To Supply Class A Drugs and two counts of Possession With Intent To Supply Class B Drugs.
