Court-Dodger and Drug Suspect Apprehended in Piccadilly Gardens Patrol |
||
Officers from the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team were out on patrol in the city centre today (Wednesday 8 October), taking proactive action to keep the area safe and free from crime and anti-social behaviour. During their patrol, officers arrested two individuals. The first, a woman wanted for failing to appear at court, was detained after being spotted in the gardens. While in custody, she went on to commit a public order offence and assaulted an emergency worker. She remains in police custody awaiting her appearance at court in the morning.
The second individual was arrested on drug-related offences. They have since been charged and bailed, with strict conditions preventing them from returning to Piccadilly Gardens - they will attend court in the coming months.
Sergeant Jon Wyatt, of the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:
“Our team is out every day tackling crime and disorder in the area. We’re determined to ensure Piccadilly Gardens is a safe and welcoming place for everyone who lives, works, or visits. There’s no room for this kind of tomfoolery — and we’ll continue to take firm action against those who think otherwise.”
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to work closely with local partners and the community to address crime and antisocial behaviour, ensuring the area remains a place everyone can enjoy safely. | ||
