Theft Of Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention

Below are some simple tips and general crime prevention advice relating to Theft of Motor Vehicle, especially as we go into the winter months and the dark nights become longer.

Please do not give thieves the opportunity to steal your vehicle(s).

• Remember to lock your car even if you are leaving it unattended for a brief moment.
• Close your car windows and sunroof when leaving the car.
• Keep your keys safe and out of eyesight.
• Lock your car whilst in traffic to prevent carjackers.
• If garage parking is available, use it.
• Try to park where there is security cameras.
• If possible, park in a well-lit location.
• Consider using a steering lock/gear lock.

Where applicable, try to make it a routine to do these checks to help protect your vehicle.
