Mischief Week
🚀 Fireworks are great, but they can also be dangerous The best way to stay safe is by attending organised displays and leaving the fireworks to the experts! 🎆 Download our free parents’ guide for tips 👉 Darker Nights | West Midlands Police
Darker Nights As the nights grow longer and darker, remember to prioritise safety 🌙 Walk on well-lit paths, stay visible with reflective clothing, and watch out for potential hazards 👀Enable location sharing with trusted family members and friends. Keep phones out of sight. 🚴‍️ Riding your bike in the dark? Equip it with lights and wear reflective gear 💡
Burglary Advice The nights are getting darker again and it’s a time of year when we typically see a rise in burglaries. Criminals often take advantage of the cover of darkness and empty homes, so it’s important to stay one step ahead and make sure your property is protected. Lock your windows and doors, even if you’re only stepping out for a short time. Use light timers to give the impression someone is home, especially if you’re out during the evening. 💡 Keep car keys away from doors and windows, particularly if you have a keyless entry vehicle. Criminals can use signal-boosting devices to steal cars parked outside. A Faraday pouch is a simple way to block these signals and reduce the risk. If you spot suspicious activity or a burglary is in progress, call 999 immediately.
