Business Crime Week – Targeted Patrols and Arrest in South Tottenham

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

As part of Business Crime Week, officers have been carrying out targeted patrols in key areas including Tottenham Hale Retail Park, Broad Lane, and High Road N15 to tackle shoplifting and support local businesses.

On Thursday, 13 November, officers responded to a call about a violent shoplifter at Tesco, High Road N15. The suspect attempted to flee, but after a foot chase, officers successfully detained and arrested the individual for shoplifting offences.

Shoplifting doesn’t just affect businesses, it impacts the whole community. We remain committed to working with local businesses and residents to reduce crime and create a safer environment for everyone.

Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
