Ward Update – Our Work to Tackle Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

High-Visibility Patrols: Our officers have been conducting regular high-vis patrols in open spaces, particularly during the evenings and at night, to provide reassurance and deter crime.

Engagement with the Community: PCSOs have been speaking with residents and local businesses to gather feedback and intelligence on areas of concern.

Targeted Patrols around Transport Hubs: We’ve increased our presence around transport hubs to support those travelling alone, specifically Highbury Corner.

School and Youth Engagement: Officers patrol after-school to raise awareness and encourage reporting of concerns.

 We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years.
