Right Place, Right Time.

On Saturday 22nd November 2025, the Leigh Town Centre Policing Team were out on foot in the Town Centre and Parsonage Retail Park.

While walking to one of the stores on Parsonage Retail Park, Officers saw two males carrying an amount of men's gift set's, both of these males brazenly said “Morning” to the Officers before carrying on walking. A quick check at the nearby store showed that a Shoplifting had just taken place, so the Officers returned to the street to see the two males disappear around a corner, the Officers followed, but the males were nowhere in sight.

Both males had decided to play a game of Hide and Seek in a nearby retail storage yard, but both were quickly located along with the stolen property, so both males were arrested for Theft. Sadly for him, one of the guys was also wanted on Recall to Prison, so will now be spending another few weeks in Prison.

From the time of the Theft, to the Males being arrested took less than five minutes. It doesn't happen often enough, but this is definitely a case Right Place, Right Time.

The moral of the story is that good Hide and Seek players are hard to find, and I think these two could do with some more practise.
