Ilford Hill - Response To Violent Crime

Earlier this autumn, we saw two violent incidents suspected to be connected with drug activity in the Ilford Hill area.  The town centre team responded with a targeted and focused patrol plan in specific areas at key times in the weeks that followed.  These patrols resulted in disrupting criminal activity with a number of arrests and other sanctions.  Positive feedback from key partners in the area confirmed drug activity has dropped significantly.

During the operation, there were 19 arrests including 5 individuals Wanted on recall to prison, 2 individuals Wanted for failing to appear, 1 arrested for assault and 4 breaches of Community Protection Notice. Other work saw 5 vehicles seized, 90 Stop & Searches and 6 traffic offence reports generated.

The teams will continue with this operation, working with key partners to disrupt and deter criminal activity, making the area safer and use Anti Social Behaviour legislation to ban offenders from the town centre.
