#Priorities | Neighbour Disputes & Mediation

Within the Safer Neighbourhood Team we often get called to crimes such as criminal damage, public order or even harassment that have started out as disputes between neighbours.

Whilst we deal with the incidents that lead to criminality, many of the initial issues such as boundary disputes are civil matters (not police matters). It is far better to try to resolve these issues with neighbours before the situation escalates and gets out of hand, If you cannot resolve the dispute by speaking to your neighbour, you can get help from a MEDIATION SERVICE.

HOW MEDIATION WORKS
Mediation is when an impartial professional (the mediator) helps both sides work out an agreement. It’s confidential and usually quicker and cheaper than going to court.

CONTACT A MEDATION SERVICE
Mediation services differ depending on where you live so it is best to visit the GOV UK website to find more information and to help you find a mediation service near you. Follow this Link
