Zombie knife and machete possession and changes in the law


New legislation is scheduled to be introduced on the 24th of September that will make it illegal to possess, sell or manufacture or transport zombie-style knives and machetes.  

 

The change in current legislation will place dangerous zombie-style knives and machetes under the Offensive Weapons Order.   Prior to the change in current legislation a UK wide amnesty will run from Monday the 26th of August until the 23rd of September 2024.

 

Members of the public who are currently in possession of these dangerous items are encouraged to hand such items in at their nearest designated police station.  If, after 24 September 2024, people  found in possession of one of these knives or machetes,  will be liable for prosecution.
