Tonight officers have detained a well known shoplifter who has skipped court and was wanted for failing to attend for their Criminal Behaviour Order. These are civil orders which we can use to keep persons who have been found guilty of offences. Away from areas which they have offended in previously. 

Once in custody we discovered that she was also wanted for shoplifting from another store in Stretford Mall. 

She will be facing some time in prison due to the repeat offending. Where they will also be given the opportunity to seek the help she needs. As to what is the root cause of this offending. We take all crimes seriously. But also want the suspects to get the correct help so that when they leave prison/custody. They do not continue in this circle of offending.
