Please find below upcoming opportunities for training and events in Wandsworth throughout the 16 Days of Activism.
FREE TRAINING & EVENTS: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based ViolenceTuesday 25 November is the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, followed by the 16 Days of Activism. 25 November is also referred to as White Ribbon Day. Wandsworth Council mark this period of activism by holding events and online workshops for professionals and local residents. White Ribbon’s theme this year, ‘WE SPEAK UP’, calls on men to challenge sexist jokes, catcalling, staring and comments that may seem harmless but can lead to violence and abuse.
Roehampton White Ribbon Torch Parade, Tuesday 25th November at 6pm:Join the White Ribbon Torch Parade in Wandsworth, organised by the SW15 Women’s Network to support the global campaign to encourage people, especially men and boys, to act and change the culture that leads to abuse. Wandsworth Council and the Met Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Teams will be in attendance to support the walk. Meet at 6pm on Tuesday 25th November at the junction of Danebury Avenue and Roehampton Lane.
